Hobe Sound is home to Jonathan Dickinson State Park and some of the best RV camping in Martin County. We're about 20 minutes south of our Palm City shop, and we make the trip regularly to service rigs parked at the campground, along Bridge Road, and throughout the community.
Hobe Sound sits along the southern stretch of Martin County, sandwiched between the Atlantic coast and some of the most pristine natural preserves in South Florida. It's a town that draws RV owners like a magnet, mostly because of Jonathan Dickinson State Park. That 11,500-acre park is one of the top camping destinations in the state, with full-hookup sites nestled under pine flatwoods and river campsites right on the Loxahatchee. We've been making the 20-minute drive from our Palm City base to service RVs in Hobe Sound for over 14 years, and we've logged hundreds of repairs in that time.
The neighborhoods here have their own character. The Hobe Sound Beach area, Banner Lake, the corridor along Bridge Road, and the quieter streets off SE Gomez Avenue all have RV owners who store their rigs at home between trips. We know the roads, the access points, and the specific challenges that come with keeping an RV in this part of Florida. Salt air blows in from both the ocean side and the Indian River Lagoon, which means your rig's electrical connections, roof seals, and exterior hardware take a beating even when you're not traveling.
Camping conditions at Jonathan Dickinson add their own set of issues. The pine flatwoods hold moisture, and that humidity works its way into AC systems, encourages mold growth, and accelerates corrosion on wiring and plumbing fittings. If you've been parked at the campground for a week and your AC stops blowing cold or your water pump sounds off, we can be there the same day in most cases. Over 2,800 repairs completed across Martin County, and a solid number of those have been right here in Hobe Sound. Call 772-271-5270 to get on our schedule.
Jonathan Dickinson State Park is managed by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and offers 135 campsites with electric and water hookups across multiple camping loops. The Martin County government website provides additional community resources for Hobe Sound residents.
